The launch of Ethereum 2.0 will take place on 1 December. More than 524,288 ETH have been deposited into the deposit contract.
The balance of the deposit contract, which allows ETH to be transferred from the existing network to ETH2, confirming the authority of stakeholders, exceeded the required threshold of 524,288 ETH and 16,384 validators a week before the launch of phase zero.
At the time of writing, these are 586 784 ETH and 18 333 validators respectively.
Just over seven days remain until the start of phase zero.
The founder of the Defiant project, Camilla Rousseau, also noted this event. She shared her joyful expectations of moving to the Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm with the possibility of stacking.
At the weekend, the balance of the deposit contract exceeded 50% of the required value. On the eve of November 23, users sent 153,088 Ethereum. The coins remaining up to the limit were deposited in the morning of 24 November.
At the time of writing, the Ethereum price is testing support for $600, showing a growth of 5.2% per day. On Monday 23 November, quotations reached this level for the first time since June 2018. Over the last seven days, the asset price has risen by 32% (according to CoinGecko).
